I’m Australian. I’m Gen Y. I have an honours degree in Japanese postcolonial literature. For those who really care, I wrote my thesis about this guy: Lee Hoe-sung.
I read a lot of novels, and sometimes, I like to tell people what I think about them. This site is a collection of my thoughts about books. They are not really reviews in the proper sense – I don’t usually edit them too much, and they tend to be something of a stream of consciousness as I remember bits and pieces of what I’ve read. As you can tell from a quick peak at the archive list, my reading tastes are varied, but I tend not to read a lot of “genre fiction,” whatever that may be. Exceptions, of course, abound.
Unlike River Song, I have no qualms about revealing things that might be considered spoilers – you have been warned. Bonus points to readers who get the reference.
Check back at 9am every Saturday morning (Sydney time) for a new review.
Ah but, Matt … would you say the “right” book or the “same” book? Says she, cheekily! I’m not sure there’s one right book.
Hi Matt, given the River Song reference I have to say how much I enjoy your blog!
Thanks! Who doesn’t love River Song? She’s pretty amazing.
Hi Matt, I like the new blog theme. Very smart, very crisp and professional looking!
Thanks! It was an excellent way to spend some time procrastinating. :-)
Well, it certainly looks good. Now it’s back to that thesis, eh?
Have more of a thing for her mother.
