Miles Franklin Award
The Miles Franklin Award is the most prestigeous literary award in Australia. It is awarded annually to a “published novel or play portraying Australian life in any of its phases”. Which causes quite a stir among Australian literary circles. In my never ending quest to read, I feel I should get on to reading as many of these fine novels as I can. Here’s a list so far. Note, though, that this isn’t a list of ‘to be read’ novels. I’m getting there – I’m just not in any rush. Remember there have been some years where the award was not handed out, and a few years where there were joint winners. Click the links to read the reviews.
